What is Virtual Reality (VR) & 360 Videos?
Virtual reality or virtual realities (VR), are immersive multimedia or computer-simulated user experience. VR artificially creates sensory experiences, which can include sight, touch, hearing, and smell. Users are immersed within this environment and becomes a part of the virtual world and can manipulate the objects or perform a series of actions.
A 360 video, also known as immersive videos – are video recordings of a real world panorama, where the view (in every direction) is recorded using a collection of cameras or an omni-directional camera. 360 video became more widely adopted in 2015, including on YouTube, Chrome, Firefox, and Facebook.
As we see global brands such as Facebook, Google, and Apple enter into the VR & 360° Video markets, this creates a huge opportunity for companies to plan and execute VR content on these platforms. Many studies have shown that having a VR experience associated with your brand will significantly increase your consumer engagement and the experience will reinforce brand loyalty & recognition.
